Medical Ear Piercing

Safe, Hygienic Ear Piercing

Thinking about piercing your baby’s ears? Is your child asking for a pair of pierced ears? You might not think to call your pediatrician’s office, but you should! Medical ear piercing offers a safe, hygienic solution to getting those cute studs.

Ear piercing may not seem like a big deal, but it can pose serious health risks if not done with care. In non-sterile settings, anyone can get a lot more than a cute pair of earrings – we’re talking risk of infections, allergic reactions, skin sensitivity, and more. We want to avoid all that if we can, especially for those infants and younger kids.

Book an Ear Piercing Visit

Earlobe piercing is available at all 6 of our locations for all babies (ages 2-6 months), kids (5+ years), and teens. If you would like to add earlobe piercing to an upcoming appointment, please call us to talk through your options.

For Metro patients, your whole family is welcome to book an ear piercing appointment together. Call us for more details.

Why Use Metro Pediatrics to Pierce Your Ears?

Our pediatricians are specially trained in medical ear piercing, and we use medical-grade products with the Blomdahl method to ensure the safest and cleanest experience possible.

Key safety features of our medical ear piercing service:

  • Single-use, disposable cassettes: This means there’s no risk of cross-contamination.
  • Medical-grade plastic or titanium ear piercing studs: These materials are hypoallergenic and won’t cause allergic reactions.
  • Fixed stud earring backings and longer posts: This promotes healing and prevents the earrings from coming loose.
  • Wider posts to create larger holes: This helps to reduce skin damage when changing earrings.
  • Detailed aftercare instructions for the healing period: We want you to stay healthy and infection-free.

For What Ages Do You Offer Medical Ear Piercing?

We offer earlobe piercing for these ages:

  • Babies, ages 2-6 months
  • Kids, ages 5+
  • Adults accompanying a Metro patient

This is a great way to get your earlobes pierced together as a family in a clean environment. When making your ear piercing appointment, please let us know how many individuals will be getting their ears pierced, so we can set aside enough time to give your family the best shared experience.

How Much Does it Cost?

Pricing for ear piercing at Metropolitan Pediatrics is $100 for 1-2 earlobes. This includes the piercing, medical-grade ear piercing studs, and aftercare cleansing swabs.
