Safe, Hygienic Ear Piercing
Thinking about piercing your baby’s ears? Is your child asking for a pair of pierced ears? You might not think to call your pediatrician’s office, but you should! Medical ear piercing offers a safe, hygienic solution to getting those cute studs.
Ear piercing may not seem like a big deal, but it can pose serious health risks if not done with care. In non-sterile settings, anyone can get a lot more than a cute pair of earrings—we’re talking risk of infections, allergic reactions, skin sensitivity, and more. We want to avoid all that if we can, especially for infants and younger kids.
Book an Ear Piercing Visit
Medical earlobe piercing is available at all 5 of our clinic locations for babies (2-6 months), kids (ages 5+), and teens.
Adding to a Visit: If you’d like to add ear piercing to an upcoming appointment, please call us so we can update your visit details.
Family Appointments: For our Metropolitan Pediatrics families, everyone is welcome to book together! Give us a call to schedule a shared experience for the whole family.

Why Choose Metro Pediatrics for Ear Piercing?
Our pediatricians are specially trained in medical ear piercing. We use the Blomdahl method and medical-grade products to ensure the safest, cleanest experience possible for your child.
Key Safety Features:
- Single-use, disposable cassettes: This eliminates any risk of cross-contamination.
- Hypoallergenic materials: We use medical-grade plastic or titanium studs to prevent allergic reactions.
- Designed for healing: Our earrings feature longer posts and fixed backings to promote airflow and keep the jewelry secure.
- Gentle transition: We use slightly wider posts to create a better channel, making it easier and safer to change earrings later.
- Expert aftercare: We provide detailed instructions to help your child stay healthy and infection-free during the healing period.
At What Age Can My Child Get Their Ears Pierced?
We offer medical earlobe piercing for a wide range of ages:
- Babies: 2 to 6 months old
- Children: Ages 5 and up
- Adults: We are happy to pierce the ears of parents or guardians accompanying a Metro Pediatrics patient!
Getting your ears pierced together is a wonderful family milestone. When you call to schedule, please let us know how many people will be participating—this helps us set aside enough time to give your family the best shared experience.
