I develop strong relationships with families so that, working together, we can keep kids healthy and happy."
– Lori Anderson, MDWhat attracted Dr. Anderson to pediatrics was not only her love of children, but also the people she met working in the field. In general, she found everyone – doctors, nurses, and staff – more friendly, patient, easygoing, and happy! They were exactly the type of people Dr. Anderson wanted to be and the kind of individuals she wanted to work alongside. Plus, kids are amazing and so much fun – she’s never looked back!
Hands down, the reason Dr. Anderson loves being a pediatrician is working with families. She enjoys seeing children and parents grow together. Pediatricians may not save a life every day (some days they do!), but they make a difference every day. And it’s the little things that really matter! As a pediatrician, Dr. Anderson is delighted to have the opportunity to reassure parents and offer peace of mind, encourage healthier lifestyles that may change a child’s future, and become a confidant to teens facing challenging situations.
Growing up among a bunch of cornfields in the Midwest, Dr. Anderson has a hard time sitting still. With two active kids and a husband, she rarely has time to stop moving anyway! At home, you may find Dr. Anderson happily engaged in a conversation about dinosaurs, Legos, or kitties, but she suspects these interests will change as her kids grow older. Dinos and kitties aside, she’s passionate about teaching her kids to lead a healthy life and feels very fortunate to be able to have both a wonderful career and family!
