Care Philosophy

My practice is grounded in the belief that kids and parents are doing the best they can, with what they have, and with what they know, at every moment. Relationship building is the foundation of my therapeutic work with kids and families, and I believe connection is an integral part of growth and change. I strive to provide affirming, strength-based, and trauma-informed care.”

Biography

Before moving into social work, Tara taught elementary school for five years. Though she loved teaching, she felt a growing desire to connect with kids individually, learn more about their stories, and offer more holistic support. To bring these ambitions to life, the teacher set off for her next classroom experience: going back to school for a Master of Social Work.

Today, Tara works as a behavioral health clinician, supporting patients and families in the way she always envisioned. She’s amazed daily by how children and adolescents feel their way through the world. Beyond that, she loves building relationships with each child and family and being part of their journey in becoming more connected to one another, and to themselves. Making friends is clearly one of her favorite job duties!

In addition to connecting with others, Tara loves to learn and read. Along with an overly ambitious must-read list, she entertains herself by gardening, hiking, traveling, kitchen dance parties, and tending to indoor plants. She also enjoys spending time with her partner and their two hilarious cats.
