Care Philosophy

As a mother of three children, I understand the joys and challenges that arise during early parenthood and learning how to feed tiny humans! My own experiences inspired me to become a Lactation Consultant who focuses on the needs of all the members of the family as we create a feeding plan together. I’d love to collaborate with you to make your feeding journey a positive, empowering experience for you and your baby.”

Biography

An experienced lactation consultant, health educator, and mom, Megan has educated and empowered thousands of Oregon families through their infant feeding journeys. With a background in anthropology and sociology, she has a strong foundation in the social and cultural aspects of healthcare and is sensitive to how these factors influence a family’s health and well-being. She is also invested in her community, serving as the current president of the Oregon Washington Lactation Association and making a positive impact through public health breastfeeding initiatives, demanding equitable reimbursement for lactation services from insurers, and engaging the public in health-promoting behaviors.

Megan is a research geek with a passion for providing presentations full of emerging research and evidence-based practices that challenge biases, poor science, and outdated practices. Her special interest topics include the fascinating world of our microbiome, inflammatory health conditions, and providing trauma-informed perinatal care.

As a health educator and lactation advocate with almost 20 years of experience, Megan is committed to providing comprehensive lactation education and clinical care. Her primary goal is to help you better understand your infant’s communication and provide you with the support and guidance you need to make informed decisions about your breastfeeding journey.

In addition to her work, Megan loves spending time with her family and doing things that bring her joy. She unwinds by cooking with her kids and partner, going on nature walks, and reading lots of books!
