Biography

Mazie started out as a business major in college, but she quickly realized that her passion was helping people. She loved the feeling of making a difference in someone’s life, helping them feel heard, understood, and hopeful about the future. So, she switched her major to psychology and is in the final steps to becoming a licensed professional counselor.

As a counselor, Mazie loves the opportunity to come into people’s lives for a limited time and help them transform from feeling stuck to feeling acknowledged and empowered. She helps them cope with difficult challenges, develop new skills, and build self-esteem. She also loves providing psychoeducation to youth and families on important topics like safety planning and healthy communication.

Outside of work, Mazie is a wife, dog mom, and total sucker for cat videos and SpongeBob quotes. She loves spending time with her family, nurturing her faith, trying new restaurants, and hiking. She’s also passionate about fashion and staying up-to-date on the latest trends.

Mazie is a proud Idahoan who loves talking about the state’s amazing outdoor recreation opportunities. She’s a big fan of natural hot springs and Redfish Lake, and she grew up dancing ballet and other contemporary dance styles for more than 18 years. In addition to her love of dancing, Mazie always wanted to be an actress. She even got to be an extra in a film during her college years! She still gets recruited for roles in the Portland metro area often.
