I strongly recommend fully vaccinating kids against preventable diseases on the schedule approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). I do not support nonmedical vaccine exemptions.
I believe in using evidence-based medicine as a foundation for care that is practical, flexible, and works for each individual child and family. As a partner in your child's physical and emotional health, my role is to provide support and guidance that will help them grow into healthy, happy, resilient people."
– Molly McCoy, MDThree years into medical school, kids stole the show and Dr. McCoy’s heart. Becoming a doctor was always her plan, but she never considered pediatrics. That is, until her peds rotation, where she fell in love with how smart, funny, and resilient kids are—and you know what they say, the rest is history!
Born and raised in Louisiana, Dr. McCoy literally grew up on a bayou. She hopped one state over for college at the University of Texas before returning home for medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center – Shreveport. Residency lured her to Portland, more specifically OHSU, where she trained in pediatrics by day and first-time parenthood by night—it was a very educational time!
Today Dr. McCoy loves caring for newborns, babies, and toddlers as well as supporting new parents and breastfeeding. Her other passions are early childhood literacy and caring for gender diverse youth.
In addition to tiny humans, Dr. McCoy also has a weakness for pint-sized animals: corgis are her favorite! She enjoys getting lost in a good book, trying new foods, and exploring Portland with her family. She makes a mean jambalaya and gumbo, but really misses Gulf shrimp!
