Biography

Dr. Stockbower discovered her calling for medicine while shadowing her childhood pediatrician over summer break in college. Not only did her pediatrician inspire her to pursue a career in pediatrics, she has fond memories of visits to the doctor because her pediatrician always made her feel like a rock star, even when she was sick!

Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Dr. Stockbower attended college and medical school close to home before moving cross-country to attend pediatric residency at OHSU. She loves working in pediatrics because children are so resilient, and her patients make her laugh and smile on a daily basis. One of the greatest gifts offered by this career is the opportunity to develop longstanding relationships with patients, watching them grow and develop over time.

As a former collegiate basketball and tennis player, Dr. Stockbower has a special passion for physical fitness and working with youth athletes. She completed fellowship training in pediatric sports medicine at Children’s Hospital Colorado to gain expertise in treating acute and overuse injuries. She believes that participation in athletics offers physical and mental health benefits for children as well as many valuable life lessons. Ask her about ways for your family to incorporate more physical activity into your life!

Outside the office, you can find Dr. Stockbower spending her time outdoors running, hiking, and backpacking. She also loves exploring all the cafés and restaurants in Portland and tasting the latest flavors of ice cream at Salt & Straw.
