Care Philosophy

Children continually remind me how precious and fascinating life really is. Watching their eyes light up in amazement after seeing, hearing, or learning something new inspires me to approach everything in life with passion and curiosity.

I enjoy working with families and being their go-to resource when they are in need of guidance and care. Above all, I hope to educate families and help prevent disease and other health issues. I find tremendous joy in getting to know families and watching my patients grow up."

– Katherine Hyde, MD

Biography

From a very young age, Dr. Hyde pictured herself wearing a white coat and stethoscope one day. Although she always knew she wanted to be a doctor, she was uncertain what type. Three years into medical school, after sampling various specialties through rotations, she found her place in the medical world. Captivated by kids’ variability at all different ages and stages, she fell for pediatrics.

Children constantly remind Dr. Hyde to cherish life and revel in its amazingness! She recalls the first time she lent her stethoscope to a pediatric patient so she could listen to her own heart and lungs. Upon hearing her heartbeat, the girl’s expression transformed into sheer wonder and delight! This interaction and so many others inspire Dr. Hyde to approach everything she does with “childlike” intrigue and enthusiasm. Kids have taught her to see the world as they do, and she now finds beauty and splendor in the smallest things.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Hyde welcomes the opportunity to share information and encourage prevention. She loves that families depend on her in times of need, but also values working together to keep kids healthy. Getting to know families and being involved in their lives is the highlight of every day. Clinical skills include performing circumcisions as well as placing and removing Nexplanon implants.

An adventurous spirit, Dr. Hyde loves exploring the great outdoors on foot or skis. She is also an avid camper. At home, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, turning out tasty meals and baked goods, or practicing her woodworking skills. When she needs to clear her mind, she indulges in yoga or goes for a run. Above all, her favorite thing to do is spend time with friends, family, and her furbaby – a polydactyl cat. She swears he can jump higher because of the extra digit (toe) on each of his paws!
