Reassuring Children After Tragedy
Nothing hurts more profoundly than the tragic loss of young life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hoffman family and all of the students, staff, and parents of Reynolds High School. May the love and support of those around you help you through the days ahead.
Traumatic events often leave children feeling worried, upset, and insecure. Whether a child has personally experienced trauma, been exposed to the media coverage, or overheard adult conversations, it is important to offer support and reassurance.
As a parent, you may be struggling with how to talk with your child about yesterday’s events. To this end, we have listed some resources to help you navigate the questions, discussions, and concerns that often arise in the aftermath of violent and traumatic events.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to the members of your child’s medical team should you need additional support and/or resources.
