Care Philosophy

I tailor every visit to the unique needs of your child and family. You know yourselves best, so every care plan we build is a true collaboration. I know medical visits can be stressful, and I work to make our time together as warm, reassuring, and enjoyable as possible. My goal for every visit is simple: for you to leave feeling heard, fully supported, and confident in our plan.”

Biography

From coaching youth volleyball and working in daycares to spending over ten years treating complex conditions in a busy pediatric emergency room, Sarah has built her life around caring for kids.

While in high school, she volunteered at the Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children, an experience that inspired her future in pediatrics. After earning her degree in human physiology from the University of Oregon, she got her start in healthcare as a certified nursing assistant in a hospital float pool. She was exposed to almost every department in the hospital, but she always felt most at home on the pediatric units.

During physician assistant school, Sarah took every opportunity to immerse herself in pediatrics, completing rotations in general pediatrics, pediatric orthopedics, and the pediatric intensive care unit. That dedication led to more than a decade in pediatric emergency medicine, where she mastered the skill of delivering clear, calm, and expert care when families need it most.

While her extensive medical background gives parents immediate confidence, it’s her ability to connect with kids that makes visits special. Sarah excels at putting nervous children at ease, knowing that a clinic visit can sometimes feel daunting. Her favorite moments are when she can guide a family through a stressful moment, turning anxiety into empowerment so everyone leaves her office feeling heard, supported, and completely reassured.

Outside the clinic, Sarah squeezes every drop of joy out of life in the Pacific Northwest. You’ll often find her out on the water paddleboarding, hitting the trails for a hike, camping under the stars, or enjoying live outdoor music during Portland’s sunny summer months. She is also a passionate sports fan who is always ready to catch a football or hockey game, and she loves swapping travel tales from her recent trip to Spain. At the end of a busy week, her absolute favorite reset is curling up on the couch with a great book and her dog, Penny.
