Biography

Dr. Chris Stadnick’s path to medicine began with a great role model: his very own childhood pediatrician. Inspired by his doctor’s warm demeanor and approach, he knew early on he wanted to build similar supportive relationships with families. Before committing to medical school, he spent a memorable year with the City Year program mentoring 4th-grade English students—an experience that solidified his passion for connecting with children.

Though he began medical school unsure of his specialty, Dr. Stadnick quickly found his true calling in pediatrics during his clinical rotations. He realized he loved the focus on preventive care, and he simply enjoyed working with kids far more than adults! He completed his residency at the University of Virginia, where he embraced the variety and long-term relationships that primary care allows him to build with families.

Above all, Dr. Stadnick loves working with children because of their resilience and randomness! As he says, “They are so tough, curious, and can make you laugh with an unexpected question or joke. Every patient and every day in the clinic is an adventure!”

Outside of Metro Pediatrics, Dr. Stadnick is an active outdoorsman who loves running and hiking. He’s also a major basketball fan (Go Vols!) and can’t wait to check out Portland’s amazing trails, try new restaurants, and root for the Trail Blazers.
