Through compassionate, evidence-based care, I aim to empower children to reach their full potential and live happy, healthy lives."
– April Abaecherli-Shore, FNP-CGrowing up with a physician grandfather, April was always drawn to the world of healing and helping others. Her natural affinity for science, particularly the human body, seemed to foreshadow a future in medicine. But life had other plans, at least initially.
After completing her undergraduate degree in biology, April found herself back home in Cincinnati, Ohio, searching for her perfect fit. A casual conversation with her nurse cousins sparked a new idea: becoming a nurse practitioner. The more she researched, the more excited she became. April enrolled in an accelerated nursing program at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Her passion for pediatrics blossomed during her clinical rotations. Children were her happy place, and she loved building relationships with her young patients and their families. April worked as a registered nurse at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital before transitioning to pediatric primary care.
Despite a few career changes due to family relocations, April’s dedication to pediatric care remained unwavering. She’s worked in various settings, from federally qualified health centers to private practices, always focused on providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her young patients.
April’s greatest joy comes from connecting with children and their families. She believes in the power of listening, understanding, and building trusting relationships. Her proudest moments are when parents express gratitude for her attentive care and genuine investment in their children’s well-being, often comparing it to their own.
This same dedication and love are evident in her personal life. Her family is her world. She and her husband, Nick, have two children, David and Paige, and a beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback pup named London. After living in Cincinnati and Denver for many years, they recently moved to Camas, Washington, where they are embracing the Pacific Northwest lifestyle.
Growing up in a large extended family, April has always had a deep love for children. She views them as the light of the world and finds immense joy in being a part of their lives. Building connections with her patients and their families is the heart and soul of her practice.
