I believe true well-being requires attention to both physical and mental health. I approach each client with compassion, curiosity, respect, and a touch of humor, creating a safe and supportive space where they can explore their vulnerability and navigate life's complexities. I am honored to support them on this journey, celebrating every step they take toward their goals, values, and overcoming fears.”
– Anna Peaslee, LCSWAnna’s journey to becoming a behavioral health clinician began in the fitness world. As a personal trainer, she quickly recognized the vital connection between physical and mental well-being, sparking a deep curiosity about the human experience and the intricacies of the brain. Despite initially pursuing economics at Boston College, the pull to understand the human mind proved irresistible. She made a decisive shift, embracing her passion for helping others by pursuing social work at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work.
For Anna, social work isn’t simply a career; it’s a calling. It fuels her innate desire to learn, provides a platform to support others, and constantly encourages her own growth. Working with individuals from all walks of life, each with their own unique strengths and challenges, has solidified her belief in our shared humanity. During her graduate studies, she encountered a quote by Harry Stack Sullivan that resonated deeply: “In most general terms, we are all much more simply human than otherwise, be we happy and successful, contented and detached, miserable and mentally disordered, or whatever.” This fundamental understanding of our shared human experience—with its inherent joys and sorrows, triumphs and struggles—forms the foundation of Anna’s approach to care.
Anna recognizes that life inevitably involves pain, and she considers it a true privilege to witness her clients’ vulnerability as they navigate the complexities of being human. She celebrates every step they take—big or small—toward their goals, living authentically, and conquering their fears. These moments of progress are what make her work so profoundly rewarding.
When she’s not supporting her clients, you’ll likely find Anna enthusiastically greeting every dog she meets. She embraces the outdoors and loves to move her body, whether it’s through running, yoga, biking, or any activity that sparks joy. Her recent thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail (2,655 miles!), from Mexico to Canada, provided an unparalleled experience of living in harmony with nature. She continues to nurture this connection, finding peace and inspiration in Oregon’s natural beauty.
