About Payments & Insurance
As a courtesy, we bill most insurance carriers directly. Please be advised, this does not guarantee payment and ultimate responsibility of the account is yours. You are responsible for copays, deductibles, non-covered services, coinsurance, and items considered “not medically necessary” by your insurance company.
Metropolitan Pediatrics does not bill workers’ compensation, third party liability (except auto insurance for motor vehicle accidents), or foreign insurance. Settlements of these claims can take several months. You may be asked for payment in full or mutually agreed upon financial arrangements at the time of service. A copy of the claim form will be provided to you upon request for personal billing to the responsible party.
Patients are responsible for all charges resulting from treatment provided by Metropolitan Pediatrics. Payment is due within 30 days of statement billing unless other payment arrangements are made. Please let us know if you are having difficulty paying your bill. Financial assistance and payment plans are available.

Our practice may use and disclose your child’s protected health information (PHI) in order to bill and collect payment for the services and items provided by us to your child. For example, we may disclose your child’s PHI as follows:
- To contact your child’s health insurer to verify that your child has medical coverage and to determine benefits
- To other health care providers and entities to assist in their billing and collection efforts
- To obtain payment from other third parties that may be responsible for such costs
- To bill you directly for services and items
