Metropolitan Pediatrics will gladly continue care for your child, our patient if you are uninsured, or if we are unable to verify insurance coverage. Metropolitan Pediatrics, LLC offers a discount of 25% on physician services paid at the time of visit for uninsured patients. The discount does not apply to supplies or immunizations. If you are uninsured (no insurance) the immunizations may be covered under the Vaccine for Children’s program.

Unpaid Accounts
We assign all unpaid accounts to an outside collection agency that reports to a national credit bureau. Per our credit policy, any account turned over to an Outside Collection Agency will be charged a $150 collection fee. The Outside Collection Agency may also add additional penalties and interest to the unpaid amount.
Divorced Parents
Metropolitan Pediatrics acknowledges and appreciates the many complexities to a divorce or non-intact family. We understand your situation is stressful. Metropolitan Pediatrics will not be responsible for disputes between parents due to a divorce or non-intact family. The custodial parent or the parent who brings the child(ren) to the clinic are financially responsible for the account of the child(ren). If the courts hold a specific parent responsible for providing health care, the dispute is between the parents and will not be arbitrated by Metropolitan Pediatrics. The parent who is responsible for the account is responsible for payment of all services not covered by insurance. Click here for our credit policy.
Payments
Our practice may use and disclose your child’s Individual Identifiable Health Information (IIHI) in order to bill and collect payment for the services and items provided by us for your child. For example, we may disclose your child’s IIHI as follows:
-
To contact your child’s health insurer to certify that your child is eligible for benefits (and for what range of benefits), and we may provide your child’s insurer with details regarding your child’s treatment to determine if the insurer will cover, or pay for, your child’s treatment
To obtain payment from other third parties that may be responsible for such costs.
-
To bill you directly for services and items.
- To other health care providers and entities to assist in their billing and collection efforts.
